The first time I shaved, I must have been about 17. It was very symbolic for me: I was finally becoming a man! But over the years, shaving became less and less pleasant. Painful hairs began to grow under my skin. From then on, it didn't get any better… on the contrary!
Over time, the ingrown hairs became more and more problematic. My skin would become red, with small, painful spots that sometimes got infected. I began to shave less frequently. It was my girlfriend who finally convinced me to deal with the problem and consult a dermatologist.
After having examined my skin, he explained to me how ingrown hairs were formed, then advised me to swap my shaving foam for a specifically designed shaving gel. I also changed my habits: now I prepare my skin with a purifying cleansing gel, then apply my shaving gel by massaging the area for two or three minutes. I now know that each step counts and if there is one thing I regret, it's not having asked for help earlier!
